I was talking to a friend (an event planner) recently about environmentally friendly weddings and parties, and she was telling me that she is getting so many requests from brides that are wondering how they can plan a wedding with a lower impact on the environment. I'm not an event planner. However, living a more eco-friendly lifestyle is something I am interested in, so I thought I would share some of my ideas about the many ways you too can go green! There are an endless amount of websites that offer advice on green planning but there are a few that stuck out for me the most. One website that offers advice on planning a green weddings is Eco Wedding. This website offers ideas and advice on everything from invitations and favors to reception menus and recipes. You can also find local vendors in the Green Wedding Directory. Another website that I found is Portovert. This website boasts ideas on everything green! You can view photos and stories from others who have planned a green affair or you can consult with the green experts right on the site. Last but not least, Eco Chic Weddings offers so many crafty ideas and inspiration for the creative at heart. While I was doing some of my research on green wedding planning, I stumbled across this great website for green invitations called Earthly Affair. Not only do the invitations look beautiful, but the site also offers little green tips right on the front page. If you are thinking of planning a green and eco-friendly wedding, try looking over some of these websites and check out some of the links to the right. You'll find some great stuff from eco-friendly products to green travel planning. You can also pick up Mireya Navarro's book on green weddings (pictured above). One place leads you to the next and you just never know what you can find. Have fun searching and good luck!Wednesday, September 30, 2009
